8th Annual Country Living Field Day


Country Living Field Day Fast Facts
 
  • Started in 1994 at the request of local farm families
  • Has grown into the largest educational program in the USA for small farms
  • Held on four adjoining farms in Northern Carroll County
  • Committee of approximately 18 farmers, landowners, and agricultural agency  representatives plan the yearly event
  • The following statistics are from the 2002 Country Living Field Day:
      -4,748 participants signed in at the field day
      -814 youth registered for the Kids Safety Roundup program at the field day
      -400 volunteers assisted with the field day
      -Participants came from 56 Ohio counties, 11 other states, and Canada.
      -50 commercial exhibitors participated in the field day
      -Purchased supplies for the field day cost $31,930.94
      -16 corporate sponsors helped to pay for the field day
      -More than 60 different seminars, workshops, and demonstrations were 
       conducted at the field day for adults 
     
  • After-event evaluations indicated that nearly 21% of Country Living Field Day participants report that they have made a positive change to their farm operation or have increased family income as a result of something they learned at the field day.
  • Parents of children who have participated in the Kids Safety Roundup indicated that they believe their families are more conscious about safety issues as a result of what they learned at the Kids Safety Roundup at the field day.
