Started in 1994 at the request of local farm families

Has grown into the largest educational program in the USA for small farms

Held on four adjoining farms in Northern Carroll County

Committee of approximately 18 farmers, landowners, and agricultural agency
representatives plan the yearly event

The following statistics are from the 2002 Country Living Field Day:
-4,748 participants signed in at the field day
-814 youth registered for the Kids Safety Roundup program at
the field day
-400 volunteers assisted with the field day
-Participants came from 56 Ohio counties, 11 other states, and
Canada.
-50 commercial exhibitors participated in the field day
-Purchased supplies for the field day cost $31,930.94
-16 corporate sponsors helped to pay for the field day
-More than 60 different seminars, workshops, and demonstrations
were
conducted at the field day for adults
-
After-event evaluations indicated that nearly 21% of Country Living Field
Day participants report that they have made a positive change to their
farm operation or have increased family income as a result of something
they learned at the field day.

Parents of children who have participated in the Kids Safety Roundup indicated
that they believe their families are more conscious about safety issues
as a result of what they learned at the Kids Safety Roundup at the field
day.
